After chasing a few people while running the Rocky steps with me at the Philadelphia Art Museum, Denali takes a moment to catch his breath.
In the movie when Rocky reached the top, he lifted his dog Punchy. I suggested the idea to Denali for a photo but, he wanted to keep it simple.

After a quick sniff, Denali decided today to pose next to the Naked Cowboy.
This was Denali’s first on foot adventure to Times Square but, not his first time to New York City. Besides dodging tons of yellow taxis we had a marvelous time in the city.
Thank you Naked Cowboy!

Denali came into my life when I lived in Pennsylvania. Monthly, we would pack the Jeep with a camera and a good pair of hiking boots to hit the trails at Ricketts Glen State Park in Benton, PA.
The park is just BEAUTIFUL… Full of waterfalls and some awesome trails.
Four year later after leaving Pa., Denali and I are on a little road trip back to the area and he suggested we make Ricketts our first stop.
As soon as we pulled into the park, we went for a hike, then he decided it was time to hit the water.

Today was time to enjoy the summer and show our readers how Denali can become an island dog.
The keys to a successful photo shoot with Denali:
• Hawaiian tunes
• Plenty of dog treats (specifically something meaty)
• A cool costume from your collection of unused clothes
• Shades that keep the flash out of his eyes
• A red boa that shows off his golden locks

This is the real deal, folks.
Many shop owners tell me customers wonder if a dog really allows a photographer to take pictures in various states of dress.
He does – after many years of training.
“But Photoshop must be involved to paint hair on him?”
“Those glasses can’t be really on his head.”
Oh, it’s all real. And it takes an extremely long time to complete one photo shoot.
Denali is very patient, but that is a trait he’s gained after extensive training and patience on his part. The above photo is an outtake from a recent shoot showing how I can adjust his head level and he will stay still for a short period.
Since this is a one-person operation I must get back to the camera quickly before he loses concentration. Some days that happens and other I struggle. As you can see, in the end, we’ve accomplished our goal a few times.

Greetings… Denali is back to work after his little problem with eating coins. It really amazes me what dogs eat! He and I are working on three new styles. Please check back in a few weeks to see the new cards.

It’s been a rough week for Denali. Last weekend he went for a follow-up vet visit, and I was told he had something in his stomach that needed removed. That something turned into $1.80 in coins. Quarters and a nickel.
This is the second major surgery the poor guy has undergone. He’s fine, however.
His modeling duties are on hold while he is stitched up. Denali is moving slowly but still is happy, wagging his tail and requests his pets. No stick tossing this week.

Denali has this habit that is bred into a Golden Retriever. It’s called an addiction to swimming.Today, without my approval, he decided to go for a swim in Lake Erie.
A nice drive to Marblehead, O. with my brother turned into a wet, smelly mess in the Jeep, but how can you deny a dog the chance to do what he enjoys.Oh well, he’ll just stink for a few days. By now I’m used to it.

Denali, today, finally had the chance to show off his abilities to the local media.
Getting on the cedar chest was no problem. Posing for pictures failed to scare him. Denali didn’t seem to mind strangers from the Bowling Green (O.) Sentinel-Tribune stopping by for a feature story on the card business and a dog’s willingness to be photographed in various outfits.
Reporter Deb Rogers and photographer Aaron Carpenter are the first members of the mass media to visit the location where it all happens. A story set to be published May 3 will focus on Denali’s cards being available at the Bowling Green State University bookstore.
Upon departure of the media hounds, Denali promptly found his favorite spot against the couch and took a nap. It was just another day in the life of a supermodel dog.
