Basset Hound

A few times a week Denali and I visit Norm. Well, I prefer to call him Normie. He’s an older rescue basset hound who misses his father during the day, so we stop over and spend a little time with him. Normie and D get along pretty well, and it’s rather amusing to me that whenever Norm decides to let out his famous howl, Denali always feels it’s his duty to chip in and start barking. Yesterday afternoon in the midst of all the rain, I was sitting on one end of Normie’s father’s really long couch eating my lunch and I looked over and noticed the two boys relaxing. So CUTE!! Have a great weekend everyone!

Guard Duty

One of Denali’s favorite spots to hang out at my parents home is the top of their steps. He can lay there for hours monitoring their every move and he has absolutely no problem with my parents taking large steps and leaps over him repeatedly during the day. However, if someone walks up to the front door, including the mailman, D charges down the steps with a fearless bark to greet them and normally you’ll find my mum running after him yelling “DENALI!”. Have a great week everyone!

Dog Washing

It’s very unusual to wash Denali outside in October but with the weather being really nice out, I completed that task with the help of my mum…(Note: I owe her 2 Starbuck’s pumpkin spice steamers). When my mother pulled up to my house, Denali ran up to her with excitement, not having the slightest clue that he’d be very upset with her and I in about 5 minutes. After I attached Denali to his leash and started to drag the garden hose into my backyard, his excitement about my mum’s visit slowly started to disappear. So in the midst of washing Denali, with my mum hold onto D’s leash, and having her scream at me, “He keeps on shaking!”, I took a picture to share with everyone. Have great weekend everyone!

EGGO WAFFLES

Sunday morning I was sitting on the couch with my espresso watching CBS Sunday Morning eating my blueberry eggo waffle. Apparently my waffle must have smelled extremely good to Denali because he would not leave me alone. He kept on trying to get closer to my plate, then he welcomed himself on to my lap. After having my breakfast interrupted and losing my favorite spot on the couch, I went into my kitchen and made him one. I’m not sure how this is helping my situation of Denali begging, but at least we both had a healthy breakfast. Have a great week everyone!

Friendship

Denali and I were outside chatting at the window of my neighbor, who is better known as Remi’s mum. Before we both realized it, Remi, the extremely LARGE puppy great dane pushed aside his mum and Denali did the same to me so they could chat..or you could describe it as barking and growling at each other?? It’s truly amazing how a simple conversation with a friend can be so rudely interrupted by two very impatient dogs, who find sniffing and barking more important than their masters having a moment to chat with each other.. Geez dogs… you just have to love ‘em! Have a great weekend everyone!

DETROIT TIGERS

I have wanted to take this photo for a long time and now since the Detroit Tigers have had a great season and made the playoffs, I thought it was about time. Saturday, Denali joined me in Detroit for a photo assignment. As soon as I completed the job, we headed to the home of the Detroit Tigers, Comerica park. I’m assuming not many people have taken photos of their dog at the entrance of the park. I say this because along with numerous people honking their horns at us, and one person yelling, “My dog would never sit that still,” Tigers security came out and observed us laughing as they spoke on their walkie talkies to each other. Good luck tonight and GO TIGERS!! Denali is their #1 fan!

Dog Glasses

In the midst of all this rain, we actually had nice weather for a day this past week. To take advantage of it Denali, a friend, and I went for a ride in my Jeep. Being the protective mother that I am, I had D wear his trendy Doggles for the ride. Denali however, was not too happy about wearing them and he pouted, whined and went in circles on the back seat. Despite his dramatic performance, D finally caved in and stuck his head out of the window and boy did he look cute. Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

ABC NEWS CHANNEL 13

Denali and I want welcome all his new fans and send out a special Thank You to Rebecca Regnier, Justin Billau, and intern Lindsay with ABC Channel 13 News in Toledo, Ohio. After they finished working with Denali, I had them all pose with him for a photo. The best part is, Friday when we were watching the segment at my parents home and the story about Denali started, he ran up to the TV and started barking at himself… O’ Denali, I’m not sure if he knew that it was him or just another really good looking golden. I just love him. Have a great week everyone!!

ABC NEWS

How do you interview Denali?? Well… just ask Rebecca Regnier, reporter with Channel 13 ABC NEWS in Toledo, Ohio. The segment will air on Friday in Toledo, Ohio on Channel 13 ABC as the last segment of their six o’clock news. Pet Travel

Over the weekend, Denali and I spent time with my mother while she was organizing some clothes for a trip with my dad. All three of us where hanging out in the bedroom while she was packing their suitcase. I was seated on her bed and I thought Denali was resting at the foot of the bed like he normally does. When my mother turned around to put some clothes in her suitcase, she burst out into laughter when she saw Denali sitting IN her suitcase with a big smile on his face. OMG…Really.. Denali is that a hint..hint!! Have a great week everyone!!!
