Daddy’s little helpers

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 9:30 am

My husband was working on our chimney and I was told to keep the girls and Sir W away so they would not disturb him. Well, I possibly accomplished my mission for about 5 minutes. Before I knew it, toddler G was offering to help, and inspector Sir W joined in. Have a great week everyone.

Thankful on Thanksgiving

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 10:32 pm

This is one of Sir W’s least favorite hats, and today I’m thankful he wore long enough so I could get a photo. In life, they say it’s the simple things that mean the most. We want to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. Have fun, be safe, and thanks for following Denali The Dog, ‘aka’ Sir Wilbur.

This is a very unusual sight in our household. My husband even had his hand on Wilbur..shocking, yes. We were all upstairs and the girls were rearranging the hall closet and my husband and I were sitting on the floor chatting. When I noticed the two boys relaxing together it made me smile. Love my boys. Have a great week everyone!

About 35 years ago or so my parents took a photo of my brother and I next to this super large santa at Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland. Bronners is located in Frankenmuth, Michigan and is known as one of the largest Christmas stores. My goal on our visit was to do the same with the girls but they were being dramatic and refused to go near the tall, red thing with a white beard. So, what do you do…you put Sir W in their spot and I got my photo. Have a great weekend everyone!!

Dog Martini

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 10:26 pm

This is Sir W doing his martini glass pose. Protective cones for your dogs can be very frustrating. I’m currently on my third one. The first one was blue and flexible, and he kept on scratching his cheek. The second one was inflatable…it lasted about 5 minutes before he started scratching his face. Now, I currently have the hard plastic one on him and I’m not happy about it. However, he’s had a lot of peanut butter over the past few days and does not mind wearing it. I just wish he would stop scratching so I can get rid of the lovely collar. Love my Wilbur and the vet says his spot is doing better. Have a good week everyone!

Bee’s and Honey

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 2:01 pm

With Halloween Tuesday, I thought it would be fun to show off the girls and Sir W’s costumes. If you look closely, Sir W is honey, surrounded by his two little bees, who are not interested in posing for their mother. However, Sir W, being the professional model, is doing a fabulous job. Happy Halloween everyone, have fun and be safe !

Memories of an old friend

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 1:59 pm

Sir W found this bone in our home and I have no idea where he found it. Years ago, in Pennsylvania, I purchased it for Denali, and it was one of his favorites. Wilbur is not at all into playing with toy bones and for some crazy reason he played with it for a good while. Dogs are so interesting, maybe it still smelled a little like D. Love and miss you Denali.. Have a good weekend everyone.

Canine Flu

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 1:58 pm

In Northwest Ohio, a few dogs have come down with the canine flu. Sir W’s walks on Sunday at the park have been canceled, it’s scary, you don’t want your puppy sick. Some of the symptoms are dry cough, sneezing, nasal discharge, droopy eyes, loss of appetite or lethargic. If your dog is showing any of these signs, please contact your vet. This is a PSA from Sir Wilbur. We love our doggie friends:)

These are our pumpkins. The girls wanted a big and a small one, so that’s what we got. My goal was to have the little pumpkin on Sir W’s head for the photo. However, Mr W kept on flicking it off his head and trying to eat it, so I had to hold it. Love him. Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

Quiet Time

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 2:08 pm

If you ever want to test one’s patience, you should try to paint with a 2 and 3 year old and a Wilbur. I was helping paint at my parents home and every time I got moving, something happened. The girls were arguing, we had a stinky diaper, or Sir W was barking at a leaf. After a bit, I noticed I had some company. He must have wanted some quiet time, from my parents and the girl since he was snoring sooo loudly. Have a great weekend everyone!
