Dogs Relaxing

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 5:57 am

Wednesday, the boys and I went on a short walk at one of their favorite parks along the river. When we returned to the Jeep, I gave the boys some water and helped D into the Jeep. After I got Denali in, I noticed that Sir Wilbur had plopped himself below Denali the and Jeep and was chilling. I thought it was so cute and they looked happy….maybe a little tired, but they were happy! Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Ice Cream, Milk-Bone Sundaes for Dogs

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 6:04 am

The boys were accompanying me Wednesday afternoon and we just happened to be near their favorite ice cream parlor, Mr. Freeze, so I decided to stop. To make it easier for me, I talked the girl into putting the boys milk-bone sundae into a banana split container. However, when I presented the milk-bone sundae to the boys, Sir W lunged at it and got the entire thing in his mouth in one gulp. Denali, being respectful with his manners, was politely licking it like a normal doggie. I’m not sure if Sir Wilbur is familiar with a ‘brain freeze.’ OMG.. My head would be spinning. Well then, have a wonderful weekend everyone!!

Canine Cancer Awareness, Andy’s Army

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 6:04 am

Over the weekend, the boys and I visited Andy’s Army booth, with the Golden Retriever Foundation during the Toledo Humane Society Bark in the Park event. Andy’s Army booth is a cancer awareness in memory of a rescued golden. Since Denali is fighting cancer, I thought this would be a good booth to visit and show our support. Andy Army’s booth is new and will be traveling to other events in Northwest Ohio to promote public awareness of canine cancer and to raise money for canine cancer research. This was the first event I have taken Sir W to with a ton of other dogs and surprisingly, he was well behaved and so was D. Along with the boys receiving tons of treats and pets, I had them pose next to Andy’s sign. Have a great week everyone!

Outtakes of the Dynamic Duo

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 1:19 pm

Since the boys new greeting card, The Dynamic Duo, is so popular, I thought it would be fun to share with you some of the outtakes. It took roughly two weeks to get the photo I wanted and in between that there was a lot of sniffs and licks. Thankfully, they finally cooperated and I got the photo I wanted. This Dynamic Duo card is available at the retailers in Toledo, Ohio who sell his cards (The stores are listed on his website) and you can also purchase them on Denali’s website, http://www.denalithedog.com/cards.html. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

One year later

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 5:49 am

On May 12 of last year, Denali and I welcomed into our life Sir Wilbur. I can not believe it has been a year that he has been with us. I can honestly say that Sir W has been the best thing for D. He keeps Denali going and brings excitement into our lives. Around my family Sir Wilbur’s code name is ‘Trouble,’ and Denali’s is known as the ‘Saint.’ Since it’s a year later, I thought it would be fun to have the boys reenact their first ever photo. Wow!! Have a fabulous week everyone!!

Thank You, Dr Cheryl London

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 5:48 am

Tuesday, the boys and I visited OSU Veterinary Medical Center for Denali’s monthly visit. Denali is doing well and continues to have airflow in his nose. In November of last year when Denali was diagnosed with cancer, I did not know what to do. Thankfully, a friend suggested I take him to OSU and that’s where I met oncologist, Dr. Cheryl London. She gave me hope, something I did not think I had. I am grateful to Dr London for all the help she has given Denali and so many dogs with cancer. After his visit, Dr London, left and recent graduate Jillian, who is assisting in the Clinical Trials, posed with Denali & Sir W. Have a great weekend everyone!!
