Tug Of War

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 7:23 am

Denali is taking the day off and resting while getting some help for his nasal cancer… Sir Wilbur is completely different than D. Whenever I take my sheets off my bed, Denali has no issues, however Sir W does. The minute I get my sheets off my bed, Sir Wilbur is next to me jumping at them playing tug-o-war with me. It does not matter if my sheets are 300 to 600 count, he has ripped them all. Wilbur, you need to work on your manners. Denali, Momma loves you and I love Sir Wilbur too, even though he has ripped all my sheets. Have a good weekend everyone!

Must Love Dogs

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 2:27 pm

My boys love visitors. As soon as they hear a knock on the door, D goes running with Sir W in the lead, both barking like crazy. I told the boys that grandma and grandpa were on their way over..and then I knocked on the wall to get them going… They charged for the front door and after about a 10 minute performance, they laid down together in the doorway waiting for my parents.. Awww I love them so. Have a good week everyone!

Michigan-Ohio State football rivalry

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 6:56 am

This weekend, the greatest North American sports rivalry is taking place… the Ohio State vs. Michigan game. Since this is a huge game where we live, the boys suggested I dress them in the opposing colors. Denali volunteered to wear scarlet to show his support for all his new friends at Ohio State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. Sir Wilbur then suggested he wear the maize and blue gear since his Uncle Stevie is a huge fan.. May the best dog…I mean team, win. Have a great weekend everyone!!

Dog Thanksgiving

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 7:00 am

With Thanksgiving this Thursday, I thought it would be good to get the boys into the spirit. At first, I was not sure which of my boys to put the turkey hat on, but a good friend told me Sir Wilbur looks like a turkey. So.. Happy Thanksgiving to all! Denali and Sir W send out their love to all their wonderful fans!

Dog Park

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 8:34 am

Denali is starting to feel a little better, so I took him along with Sir Wilbur to one of his favorite parks. Shortly after we arrived, the boys spotted a pack of deer and thoughtfully chased after them. Thankfully, I had a bunch of treats with me to get their attention. I love my boys… Thanks again for all the love and support of Denali’s fans. You guys are the best.. Have a good weekend everyone!!

Nasal Cancer

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 6:55 am

Last week, I found out that Denali has nasal cancer. After finding this out, I took Denali to Ohio State University, College of Veterinary Medicine to talk with some doctors about how I can help him. This is a new journey that Denali and I face, but with the love and support of all his fans I’m sure we can get through it. So on days when Denali needs some extra TLC, Sir Wilbur has offered for me to post his adventures while his big brother rests. We appreciate all your love and support.

Two buddies who are best friends

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 7:56 am

Sir Wilbur has been away for a bit, so I thought it was time to have him come home and hang with his big brother. After their happy dance, followed by a few long sniffs, I plopped them both onto my bed since I know it’s one of their favorite places to snuggle… I am currently talking with a few doctors in ways to help Denali. My goal has always been to keep Denali happy and healthy, and that’s just what I’m going to do. Denali and I appreciate all your thoughts and prayers. Have a nice weekend!

Denali Update

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 6:59 am

Sunday morning, Denali and I started the day by sharing my Fruity Cheerios, then I fed him his favorite, ground beef and rice that grandma made. He was so happy and it was the first time I noticed him wagging his tail. When I spoke with the doctors on Saturday they showed me photos they took of his nose and pointed out a mass that they found. Later in the week they will tell me the results and that scares me so… It’s been a rough few days and at times you just don’t know what to do. I took a photo of D chowing down on some doggie ice cream for all his fans to enjoy. Also, the ban for Wilbur has been lifted and Sir W is currently staying at my parents home, since Denali needs some time to rest. I really appreciate all your thoughts and prayers, they mean the world to me and D.

Rain Boots & nasty weather

Filed under: Day in the life — denalithedog @ 6:21 am

We have had lots of rain in Ohio over the past few days, so I thought it was time to bring out the boys rain gear. Thankfully, Ohio was spared by the nasty hurricane that affected so many. Most of all, Denali and Sir Wilbur want to send their love and support to all those who were in Sandy’s path.
