Denali has three favorite spots in the house. My bed, his beddy, or hanging out at the front window. Some days he’ll spend hours standing at the window alerting me of everyone who has walked by. When the mailman walks up to the house, Denali growls at him but while growling, he’s also waggling his tail, dancing. Denali just loves the mailman and mailman loves Denali too. Since it has been so cold out, Denali and I have not been out that much so I’m sure when he sees the mailman the only thing he’s thinking of is all the free treats he gets. I LOVE Denali. Have a great day everyone!
Every time I do the laundry, Denali always gets in the way. Yesterday morning I took the sheets off my bed and tossed them on the floor. Within minutes I looked over and Denali is nestling in the center of my sheets as I tossed more on top of him. He just loves this. If he’s not snuggled in my bed with my warm down comforter covering him, he’s on the ground with my sheets and blankets on him. What a life!
Denali and I went on a business road trip last week and on our way home I saw a sign for the Marblehead Lighthouse in Marblehead, Ohio. Denali and I have stopped there many times in the summer, but never in the winter. We stopped and OMG, it was soooo cold. The winds along Lake Erie were blowing at top speed and the wind chill was in the single digits. But have no fear, Denali and I bravely walked to the lighthouse. To keep his ears warm, I threw on him an extra hat I found in the Jeep and had him pose for a photo. Have a fabulous week everyone and stay warm!
Denali loves being in front of the camera and when he’s not, I think he gets a bit jealous. Earlier this week I took some head shots of a friend. While setting up the studio, Denali could not contain his excitement. He kept on jumping on top of the cedar chest where he normally sits when I shoot his Denali The Dog photos. After playing a quick game of musical chairs, my friend was able to win his seat on top of the cedar chest. Then when I started to shoot, Denali walked up to me and stuck his nose into my camera and would not leave me alone. Geez.. I did not realize he’d get so jealous since he was not the star. Have a fabulous day everyone!
Every January, the Cobo Center in Detroit, Michigan hosts one of the most prestigious auto shows in the world called the North American International Auto Show. Since Denali and I are huge Jeep fans, I hoped to take a photo of Denali at the show, next to the Jeep display. I tried my best, but apparently the officials at the North American International Auto Show did not agree with my idea. So, I had Denali sit out in front of the Cobo Center next to the sign and I threw my hat on him to keep him warm. Have a fabulous week everyone!
Denali is not a huge fan of his snow boots. I make him wear them because his feet always give him problems in the snow. As soon as I bring them out, he tries to play hide and seek with me. He never wins because I know all of his hiding places. After finding Denali and attaching the boots to his little paws, we jumped into the Jeep and headed to the park. Within minutes of arriving to the park, Denali completely forgot about his boots and started running up and down the trail with me. He’s so cute!
Denali loves the snow and so far this season we’ve had very little. Saturday morning Denali and I woke to a fresh layer of snow. As I stood on my porch, I opened the door and Denali charged past me leaping into the 1 1/2 to 2 inches of snow that covered my yard. After running around in circles, he dove head first into the snow and started making snow angels. After about 10 minutes of rolling in the yard, he got up, shook himself off, ran back to the door and looked up at me. Yep, I have been told by many people that Denali rules the household. Have a great day everyone!
Tuesday morning I brought along my trusty assistant to a photo assignment in Detroit. After the shoot, we passed the famous Motown Historical Museum and Hitsville USA building. The Temptations to Diana Ross & The Supremes to Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson to the Jackson Five, and many more all got their start with Motown. Denali is not that much of a singer, but on occasion he does howl when he lets out his manly bark. We stopped in front, I grabbed by hat, put it on Denali, and had him pose for a photo. Long live Motown!
Denali and I have been busy visiting family and friends over the holiday. We decided to take Sunday morning off and crashed on the couch together. I first got comfy, then soon after Denali gave me a paw, and moments later I wished my couch was wider as Denali snuggled in, next to me. We laid together for a bit and before I knew it, Denali pushed me off while stretching. I realized he did this unintentionally because a few minutes later, he hung his head and looked around for me. He’s so cute! Happy New Year everyone!
