This past weekend Denali and I stopped at Barnes & Noble. While Denali patiently waited in the Jeep, I ran inside to purchase a copy of the Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan’s magazine, Cesar’s Way. In the little world of Denali The Dog, we made history. You’ll find in the Dec 2010-Jan 2011 edition of Cesar’s Way, on page 84, a story about us. This is our first national story and we are both excited. As I sprinted back to the Jeep with excitement in my voice, I showed the story to Denali as he eagerly tried to join me on my lap in the driver’s seat. After my complimentary facial, I talked Denali into posing for a photo with a few copies of the magazine. Check it out at bookstores nationwide!
Denali and I want to wish everyone a HAPPY THANKSGIVING! This weekend in Ohio, one of the most important football games of the season, the Ohio State Buckeyes vs Michgan Wolverines rival game, takes place. Denali and I are not huge sports fan, so to get him into the mood, I borrowed some gear from a friend and a cousin. Have a fabulous holiday weekend everyone and be safe!
Over the past few months I have received many request of people wanting to meet Denali. So, if you’re in Northwest Ohio on Saturday, December 4, you can check out Denali’s cards and have him autograph them.. well maybe not. But you can meet him at American Gallery in Sylvania, Ohio at 600 Sylvania, Ohio at 6600 Sylvania Ave from 11am to 1pm. Over the weekend Denali and I made a quick trip to the gallery. After exploring every inch of the gallery, Denali rested on the floor for a few minutes before greeting a few customers. I just love him!
Yesterday the weather was just beautiful outside, in Ohio it’s better known as an Indian Summer. So Denali, a friend and I took off to a local park. After we all piled into the Jeep, Denali stuck his head out the window as we drove down the road. When I looked back at him, I saw a huge smile on his face with his ears flapping in the wind. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
After photographing an assignment in Michigan this weekend, I stopped by Denali’s favorite doggie bakery in Detroit and picked up a few treats for him. While driving back home, I thought it would be fun to take a photo of Denali with some of the pastries, however, Denali was not too happy about the idea. So while trying to take his photo along with the help of my brother, 87 pound Denali knocked the dish out of my brothers hand and took down my brother. This is one of the few photo’s I took before the incident occurred. Have a great week everyone!
Somehow I have trained Denali to sit on top of my cedar chest when I take his photos. All I need to do is tap the chest and Denali will leap onto it. But as soon as he is in position, he starts to drool while waiting for his treat. This week while adjusting the lights, I was sitting on the ground, looked up, and he was hanging off the chest watching me. He’s such a good boy!
Along with his birth name, Denali, he’s also known as Mr Nosy. Whenever I am at the kitchen table working on my laptop, Denali always comes over numerous times to check out what I am doing. If I pretend to ignore him, he’ll come over to me, put his nose under my elbow, and move it until I pet him. It’s amazing how demanding he can be. But, I don’t mind, I love him so. Have a great week everyone!
Years ago while living in Pennsylvania, I purchased Denali his first pair of glasses. Actually, they are better known as Doggles. He hated them with a passion. Every time I put his Doggles on he’d stop doing what he was doing and lay on the ground and pout. I think he thought he was being punished, which he truly was not. Now, when I dress Denali with all his crazy clothes and glasses, he does not care a bit. He just sits there and looks at me. This week while working in our little studio, I shot this photo of him while I was trying to put together an outfit for him. Have a great weekend everyone!
While Denali and I were outside, one of the neighborhood boys came over in his Halloween costume and asked what Denali was going to be for Halloween. I told him, “Denali has the day off.” I asked him who he was, he said, “Cabrera.” I said, “Who?” He said, “Detroit Tigers, Miguel Cabrera.” “Ok,” I said. Then he gave me a lecture about Cabrera, which was interesting since he is a 6 years old. After my baseball lesson I decided to take a photo of him with Denali. Have a great week everyone!
