I took Denali to the spa this week for a professional overhaul. (It’s time for Denali to start working again in the photo studio so, I am trying to get him spruced up.) When Denali gets groomed he’s always excited to see the people but, he’s not too happy about the washing or blow-drying portion. Jamie, the groomer at High Point in Maumee, worked great with Denali. By the time she finished, she was covered with Denali kisses and a large portion of his golden hair. Have a great weekend everyone!
Denali visited the vet this past weekend. We were outside tossing the ball and somehow he cut his tongue. When I told my parents (aka Denali’s “grandparents”) about his accident, they insisted on making him some ground beef with rice. While my mother was cooking, Denali stood patiently next to her, watching her cook… I think he knew the food was for him. Denali ate all the food in record time and now is doing really well. He’s also enjoying all the extra attention from my family. Have a good week everyone!
Denali loves to relax on the front porch. I love him dearly but, when it comes to protection Denali is worthless. He does have a loud manly bark but, that’s about it. Otherwise I would describe him as huggable and lovable. Have a great weekend everyone!
Denali and I spent Sunday afternoon walking along the river. Whenever we hike, Denali always leads the way. Every so often Denali turns around to see where I am. On occasions I like to play a little game with him. When I notice that he has gotten a bit ahead of me, I take off running at top speed in the opposite way. Within a few minutes I start to hear galloping behind me and I see him running next to me. It always amazes me how fast he runs–if only I could win one of our races, that would be nice for a change. Have a good day everyone!
Denali and I have a morning routine. It first starts with Denali spending a few minutes outside enjoying mother nature. Once that is completed, Denali charges into the house and sprawls out on all fours in the center of my kitchen. He lays there on his belly looking at me, waiting for me to slide his tasty breakfast in front of him. You’d think he’d have the energy to stand and eat after a good night’s sleep but, No! I’m not sure if you’d call his behavior lazy or spoiled. I’m leaning more towards Denali being spoiled. Have a good weekend everyone!
Denali and I were on assignment in Detroit over the weekend. As we headed down Woodward we passes the Fox Theatre. After we passed the theatre, I suggested to Denali that we go back for a photo of him. He seemed excited about the idea so I turned the Jeep around and back we went. However, the closest free parking spot I found was about five blocks away since there was a game at Ford Field. Denali was a fabulous sport walking the streets of Detroit amongst all the Spartan fans. I just love him!
This is what I wake up to every morning. If he’s not snuggled next to me, he’s standing at the edge of my bed watching and waiting for me to wake up. Yes, it’s an odd feeling being stared at but, it’s a doggie thing. Have a good Labor Day everyone!
